Lovely Ladies Card and Tag

Standard

100_03072The May 2009 Make-It/Take-It at Stampin’ From the Heart in Los Angeles was a great success. Everyone had fun and all the cards and tags turned out great. We had two young stampers in our midst, compliments of their Auntie Michelle, and the budding artists showed alot of creative spirit.

I couldn’t stop making these luscious items myself and after the MITI went home and had a little make-and-take party of my own. The tags, topped with beautiful ribbons in all colors, were the perfect goodies for my college gal pals at our recent mini-reunion in Palm Springs (along with some great beaded charm bracelets I found at the recent Bead Show in Santa Monica). Of course, I left the back of the tags blank so they could use them with a gift for someone special.

Have a wonderful, creative day,

Jessica

Foil Leaf ATCs

Standard

100_0299If you have seen (or even touched) those packages of beautiful foil leafing and never knew what to do with them, here’s your chance to find out. The ATC Club (new members always welcome) will try it’s hand at leafing using two methods. I’ll demonstrate two techniques and then you’ll get a chance to make one ATC using each method. Don’t forget to bring at least 6  of your own ATCs (any topic or style) to trade. See the What’s an ATC? link, at right, for details on the ATC Club.

ATC Club, Stampin’ From the Heart, Los Angeles, May 20, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m, Cost $10. All materials provided.

If you loved making the matchbook cards we did a few months ago at the Make-It/Take It at Stampin’ From the Heart, then you will go ga-ga over this sweet matchbook album/journal. We’ll make it from a colorful double-sided Basic Grey kit and decorate it with stamps, decorative papers, collage images and other ephemera–don’t you just love ephemera? There’ll be spaces to add journaling later on.

Mini-Matchbook Album: 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday June 13, Stampin From the Heart, Cost $45. Call Karen’s store now or drop by to sign up. Limited to 10 students. Bring lunch.

Tools and materials for you to bring: precision scissors, glue stix, double-sided tape and red tape for those stubborn ephemera items.

Optional: This album can easily be personalized for a special birthday, graduation, Father’s day or wedding gift. Feel free to bring up to 8 of your own images, but they should be no larger than 1-1/2 by 2 -1/2 inches in order to fit on the pages. Hint: Black and white or sepia tone images can give disparate photos a more uniform look.
