Extravaganza Is Almost Here

Standard

There’s still time to sign up for Extravaganza, Spring 2011, which is going to be at Stampin’ From the Heart, Saturday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.— yes, a whole fabulous day of creating projects with ink, paint, glitter, stamps and much more. I will be one of four teachers offering classes that day. We all have access to the same stamps and papers, but each project is different. You’ll get food, too–breakfast and lunch. And a wonderful goodie bag, which includes many of the stamps we will be using. There also will be prize drawings throughout the day. It’s truly an experience to good to miss. Visit Karen’s blog (see link on this site) to find out more and sign up today. Seating is limited to 20. Hope to see you there!

P.S., I’d love to show you my project, but everything is top secret. But I will say that birds will be involved.

Matchbooks With a Message ATCs

Standard

Artist Trading CardI get ideas from the most unlikely places, this time from a tag that came with a pair of jeans. What a great ATC that would make, I thought. And here it is. Making use of some double-sided cardstock, I created Matchbooks With a Message. These little beauties feature collage images from Artchix Studio, what I call the Salome collection — exotic and alluring. When you open the matchbook, there’s a little saying inside. Great idea for an extra-special gift card. And the best part about using double-sided cardstock is that both sides are equally interesting, so I did one matchbook using each side. Six different papers = 12 ATCs. Cool, huh? Join me for ATC Night, at Stampin’ From the Heart (11720 Washington Place, L.A., 310-391-0466 for directions), on Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 6:30-8 p.m. We start right on time.  Cost is $10 for two ATCs. All materials are supplied by instructor, Jessica Hollowell. Hope to see you there.

What’s an ATC? Check the page on this site for the answer and get busy making your own to trade. Trading is optional. Please make at 10-12 cards to trade, which includes one for me and one for the store’s collection.

It’s Time for Postcards

Standard

Postcard NightI just love clocks and have always been fascinated by time. Sooo, when I found some colorful collage images from Magenta that feature time and clocks, well, I just couldn’t resist. I dragged out all my clock stamps, and trust me when I tell you I didn’t even end up using them all. And put together a time/clock collage, in black and white, which makes those collage images pop. There are four basic designs to choose from and some timely sayings to go with them. Embellished with a spot of color — flower and jewel- and voila. Join me at Postcard Night, at Stampin’ From the Heart (11720 Washington Place, L.A. 310-391-0466 for directions), Friday, June 24, 2011, from 6:30-8 p.m. We start right on time. Cost is $10 for two postcards. All materials supplied by instructor, Jessica Hollowell. Hope you can make it.
